I have worked with Jane and my young MFT gelding, Digger, for the last 3 years.  With Jane's help we have been able to take him from an unsure youngster to a really solid trail horse, who will cross any obstacle I ask him to, and steps out nicely on the trail.  Jane has helped me find ways of communicating better with my horse, so he understands more clearly what I am asking him to do.  She has also helped me work on transitions in his gaiting and better consistency in his gait - a very important thing for someone new to gaited horses.

Jane is a delight to work with.  She is very flexible, using whatever teaching methods are most helpful to achieve the desired goal for the horse and rider.  If you don't "get it" one way, she seems to always have something in her bag of tricks to help you understand it some other way.  She has very high standards, for both rider and horse, and she cares deeply about getting the best out of both you and your equine partner.

Jane has worked with me for three years now, usually coming here for a week or so each time. I have learned a lot from her, and she has helped my horse too. What I like about Jane's methods is that she is good about adjusting to different horses and riders. She has the basics down but is flexible about how she applies her methods, using a variety of techniques according to what is needed.

She has also worked with four different youths who showed horses at our 2005, 2006 and 2007 shows. These girls were very successful, and they were using horses that really aren't "show" horses. Only one girl had even shown before! It was amazing to watch their progress from being completely inexperienced to competing and winning--lots of fun to see.

Jane also continues to study and improve her skills, which adds to her repertoire. I think that helps too--you may learn a concept better with a different approach. I am happy with my progress working with Jane, and I think you will be too.

Jane recognizes that each horse is an individual.  Her training methods are not "one size fits all"; she evaluates each horse's strengths and weaknesses and tailors her training accordingly.  She also takes the time to educate the riders, so we can apply her techniques on our own.  I especially appreciate the fact that she is always learning herself - going to clinics, reading about training techniques, etc. - looking for new or better ways to help our horses reach their highest potential.  My daughter and I have known Jane for several years and always look forward to her visits to Utah.  We always learn a lot - and have a lot of fun doing it!

I have known Jane Zubia since 2003 when I contacted her about finding a good horse to purchase in the Wyoming area. She gave me a list of several farms that had good Fox Trotters for sale.I travelled up there and she took me to several farms to see many horses. Because of her expertise in gait, I was able to make an educated choice. After seeing over 60 horses. I purchased a very good 3 year old gelding and left him with her to train for 5 months.

She has become the greatest friend over the last 5 years. She has so much to offer a person at whatever level they are in their journey with horses. She understands the physical and spiritual side of the horse. If you don't understand a certain technique, she will make it clearer with analogies. She has an uncanny knack of figuring things out. I think that comes from working with horses for about 40 years. I have watched her work with many horses. She understands the nature of the horse and so is able to get the most out of each individual animal. She is able to correct problems and in a kind way help rider and owner to understand what the problem is. I would give her any horse to train and feel confident that my horse would be in the very best hands. I have seen many trainers in my 60 years and they don't come any better than Jane Zubia.
